Work Week Stripes

So you should probably know a little fact about me, I love stripes. I don't know why I love them. I add them to any outfit unless I already have another pattern then I never add stripes. I know that some of you are afraid of stripes because horizontal stripes make you look wider or some crazy saying like that. I believe the way stripes make you look is all about how you wear it. If you wear them with pride then everyone will think you look fabulous, if however you are self-conscious and believe that the stripes make you look wide then people will see you in a completely different way.

I always try to wear my stripes with pride because well they are one of my favorite patterns. So, this past week at work I wore one of my favorite striped dresses. this striped dress was an impulse buy a few years ago. I remember it hung in my closet for a few months before i got the courage to wear it. Ever since that time I have loved it. The striped dress is very easy to pair with anything. It is definitely one of those staple items that everyone just need to have in their closet because you can pair it with so many different things that you have in your closet.

This week I paired my striped dress with a tan colored cardigan, white leggings, my tan boot, and my favorite flower statement necklace. When I picked out this outfit I wanted something that was very neutral that is why I picked the tan cardigan. A tan cardigan is also another good item to have your closet, you can pair a tan cardigan with pretty much anything in your closet. There are no patterns to my tan cardigan so I get a lot of use out of my tan cardigan. I  usually pair my tan cardigan with my jean shirts and dress which are also very in right now. The tan cardigan helped added to my neutral look.

The next item that I added was my white leggings. The white leggings are another item that I kept in my drawer for the longest time. My husband kept telling me to wear them but I was scared how they were going to look. Once I wore them with one outfit however I loved them. I now wear them with a lot of my dresses and shirts because they can go with pretty much anything. I wanted to wear my white legging with my striped dress because I wanted to bring out the white stripes that were on the dress. The white leggings where the perfect pair for this dress.

The final touch to this outfit was my favorite flower statement necklace. This is a gold statement necklace that is very neutral that you can pair with many different items in your closet. I am a firm believer in getting jewelry that goes with many different items in your closet. This necklace is not too over the top either. It is perfect for any type of outfit.

The main that I was going for with this outfit is very neutral. I also wanted to show that you can put many different staple  items together and still have a nice outfit.
