As long as I can remember Easter Sunday has always been a day where you go out and try and find this very springy and dressy dress. That is how I always think about fashion and Easter together. For many people they look at Easter as time to go out and buy a new dress. Don't worry I am one of those people, but this year was different. I went out looking for that special Easter dress, the one that I just could not live without, but what I found was NOTHING! I went to so many different stores looking for the perfect dress, but in the end I came up with nothing. That is not to say that I didn't find other things that I liked, but my mission was to find a dress and while a lot of places had cute dresses none of them are what I had in mind of what I wanted to wear for Easter. Now here is the real kicker, I didn't even know what exactly I was looking for in my mind I thought when I find the dress I will just know it (kind of like when I picked out my wedding dress) however this never happened. So, as Easter was drawing closer I start to consider my options of what I could wear on Sunday. I went through my closet multiple times (both in my head and physically) still nothing seemed to stick out.
Finally on the morning of Easter I had it narrowed down to two options. Either a black maxi dress with a little bit of color on it (I call it my Katy Perry dress) or a purple flowy flower skirt. I thought about it the whole time I was getting ready for Easter Sunday. I finally decided on the purple skirt. I felt that it was more spring and I had been really wanting to wear it (side note both items were from Dottie). This is how I styled it.
I wore it with a white v-neck tshirt. I did try gray and black but those were just too dark. That is not say that at another time I wouldn't wear the black or gray, just on Easter I wanted light colors that represented spring. To keep along with my light color theme I wore tan flower wedges. I finally topped off the outfit with a multi-color statement necklace from Premier jewelry. At the end of the morning I felt very satisfied with my outfit. It isn't always easy to pick an outfit for Easter and sometimes it is even harder to decide what to pair with a flowy skirt because you don't want to pair it with a too flowy or tight top. Be sure that when you are pairing a more flowy skirt with a top not to over do it. You usually want something that is simple so the skirt will stand out more. If you wear a flowy top then it will not make your figure look the best. A simple shirt with a little bit of fabric is the way to go.
YOUR TURN:
What did you wear for Easter? Was it hard for you to decide?
