Last week I went to California for a week with my family. If you should remember one thing about me is that I love California and I hope to one day live there I know what some of you are thinking, it is so expensive out there and California is going to fall off the United States, but I don't care. Something about California just speaks to my heart and I absolutely love it. While out there I wanted to really observe the fashion there and I could not wait to get back and tell you all about what I saw.
California has a different style then here in Indiana and I mean that in a good way. Here is the first thing that I learned about California fashion....everyone wears something completely different. I am not kidding you there would be one person dressed in boots and a sweater and then the next person would be in shorts and a tank top. I was not sure why they each chose to dress that way but they did. I have never really seen anything like it. I know that people who live in California especially in southern California have a different type of hot than we are used to here, but still it was not freezing by any means. The style also varied because oversized and rugged were both very popular out there. Many people would wear oversized shirts, sweatshirts, or sweaters with leggings or shorts or whatever they felt like. Rugged was also very popular I saw many girls who wore the stressed and ripped jeans along with the cut off shirts. The biggest thing that I saw out there was so many people wore workout clothes everywhere they went and I loved that. California has just a different vibe, it is more relaxed and being active is so important whether it's surfing, running, walking, or biking. Everyone seemed to do something. If you know me you know how much I love to workout. So the fact that most people wore workout clothes all day long and were so active was amazing to me.
Here is what drew me in to California even more they had SO MANY boutiques! I love boutiques and supporting local stores so this to me was a huge plus. I actually did a little shopping while I was there and found a couple of items that I fell in love with (I actually found more than a few but only got two because Cali is more expensive). I will tell you about one because it has slowly become one of my favorite clothing items. They are red and black printed cloth shorts. They are amazing because The best part about them is that they are comfortable and cute. Below is how I styled them.
