Date Night

My husband and I decided that we were going to take advantage of Devour Downtown (if you haven't tried then you are missing out). One reason I love date nights so much is it gives me a reason to get out of my work clothes and lazy clothes and put on something that is a little more dressy. This past date night I wanted to wear something that I was comfortable in and that was not too dressy. So, natural I went to my closet and tried on a couple of different outfits but finally settled on a casual dressy outfit. I picked my new oversized grey sweater, a flowy black top, leggings, black boots, and to top it off a cheetah print scarf.

Now some of you might not think this is very dressy, but in my book it was as much dressed up as I wanted to get. I love being comfortable while still being fashionable and cute. You will come to find that a lot of my outfit are both comfortable but still more dressy than most.

I picked the grey oversized sweater because I wanted something that was warm that I did not have to worry about wearing a coat with. So since over sized sweaters are in right now I decided to wear my grey one. Now I usually try to go for more colors but on this date night I wanted something that was very neutral and did not have a lot of colors. This is another reason I picked the grey sweater.

Once I had picked the grey sweater I needed to decide what to pair with it. I wanted something that was flowy that would also go with the sweater. I picked my black flowy tank top. I thought this would go perfectly with my grey sweater because I love black and grey together. They just really compliment each other if they are paired correctly. In this case they were because the grey was a light grey so it would not blend in with black I put on underneath it.

Once I had those two items picked out I picked the leggings because those are always my go to. Then I picked my shoes. Now this was a hard decision because I had both grey wedges and plain black boots. I stood in front of the mirror forever trying to pick which one I like better. I picked the black boots because the grey in the wedges did not match the grey in the sweater exactly.

Finally I needed an accessory to make the outfit really come together. The neckline on my top was a scoop neck so I thought a scarf would be perfect. I of course picked my leopard print scarf because it had black in it which would tie together with my black top and boots. The dark brown added a little extra color to the outfit that really topped it off and made it one of my favorite outfits. I also picked the leopard scarf because leopard print in very in this season.
